Nvidia, Palantir and Booz Allen restrict Claude over data fears

The Information reported on September 14, 2026, according to Reuters, that Nvidia, Palantir and Booz Allen are restricting their use of Anthropic's models over concerns about their proprietary data. Nvidia limits Claude to less sensitive work, Palantir wants a zero-data-retention guarantee before offering Anthropic's models through its software, and Booz Allen barred staff from running Anthropic's commercial model on cybersecurity projects that touch proprietary data. On September 1, Anthropic announced Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, which let enterprise customers keep monitoring data in their own cloud accounts under their own encryption keys.

Karp says enterprises pay AI labs and hand over their data

In a July 1, 2026 interview on CNBC's Squawk Box, Palantir CEO Alex Karp made his case against frontier AI labs: companies are spending heavily on models while getting far less measurable value than promised, and are handing over proprietary data, internal knowledge and competitive intelligence in the process. He said businesses "are paying for tokens that create no value" and that executives are privately far angrier than they admit in public. He pressed the attack again in an August 3 CNBC interview, saying enterprises need to protect their data. Palantir sells the competing pitch, your data stays yours, so the claims come from an interested party.
